Richie joined the CviaD team this summer as a Design Intern. He’s a rising senior at High Point University studying graphic design. He assists the CviaD team on a variety of projects ranging from the company blog to internal marketing collateral. Through his hands-on experience at CviaD, Richie is expanding his creative horizons, developing a strong work ethic and participating in community engagement projects. Richie has a bright and inspired future ahead.
Aside from Richie’s studies and internship at CviaD, his most exceptional role began at the age of 14 as the design director at Be Like Brit Foundation. The non-profit organization was started by Richie’s family in loving memory of his sister, Britney. She died on a mission trip to Haiti during the 2010 earthquake. Before her passing, she sent a text message to her mother that said “They love us so much and everyone is so happy. They love what they have and they work so hard to get nowhere, yet they are all so appreciative. I want to move here and start an orphanage myself.” Her family fulfilled her last wish by starting the Be Like Brit Foundation and built her orphanage in Haiti. The 19,000 sq. ft earthquake proof orphanage shaped in the letter B for Brit, stands strong as a beacon of hope for the people of Haiti. Today there are 66 children living and thriving at the Be Like Brit orphanage.
