The Greater Boston Food Bank

Distributing over 117 million pounds of nutritious food every year, the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England. GBFB acquires, stores, organizes and distributes food through local food pantries, community meal programs, and homeless and residential shelters in the nine counties of Eastern Massachusetts.
GBFB wanted to change the mindset and perception of the organization from being a charity to being a charitable business. With this business mindset, and a mission to serve an ever-growing population of those in need, GBFB needed to create greater awareness of their assistance, and to reach more individuals and families with life-sustaining resources, programs and advocacy.
CviaD was approached to align the organization with a refreshed brand identity in addition to creating flexible, cost-effective marketing materials with consistent messaging and visuals to meet the outreach needs of the varied departments and initiatives within the organization.

The results
CviaD created a new brand identity, visual and verbal brand guidelines, a modular marketing kit, departmental brochures, annual reports, newsletters and interior displays to assist in the organization’s marketing and development efforts. Due to CviaD’s decade-long collaboration with the organization, the Greater Boston Food Bank has consistently seen year-over-year increases in volunteer hours, food donations, and financial contributions. CviaD’s solutions served as particularly effective tools in achieving these results.
